BPS Rules is a set of applications allowing business users, and software developers to collaborate in creating software systems. BPS Rules includes:
- BPS Logic Builder
- BPS Rules Director
- BPS Business Applications
- BPS Data Utility
BPS Logic Builder
BPS Logic Builder allows a business user to define business logic for a decision making software application. Once the logic is defined in terms of flow diagrams and tables, the rules can be generated and deployed to the decision making application. To use BPS Logic Builder, Microsoft Visio 2007 or 2010 must be installed on the target computer.
BPS Rules Director
BPS Rules Director is a component which facilitates the development and ultimately the execution of rules driven applications. BPS Rules Director is also available separately as a runtime component.
BPS Business Applications
BPS Business Applications are sample Windows Forms, Silverlight, Windows 8, Windows Phone and Web applications including the C# source code. The code allows software developers to quickly get up to speed implementing unique rules driven applications that meet their own business needs. The sample applications have been designed so that an identical set of rules can be deployed and executed in either application. So for example if an insurance company has a customer service web version of a claims processing application in addition to a desktop edition for agents to use then the same set of rules may be deployed to either application.
BPS Data Utility
The Data Utility is designed to be used with Automatic Variables. This means that the business user can define a set of variables and their values and test the process flow of their business logic straight out of the box without the need for any implementation by a software developer.
